Byte South West Undertakes Major Renovation of Margaret River Aquatic Centre
Byte Construct South West has embarked on a transformative renovation journey for the cherished Margaret River Aquatic Centre. The project was triggered by significant structural damage to the roof and the prevalence of damp and chemically laden moisture throughout the facility.
Seizing the opportunity to rejuvenate and modernise the centre, Byte is placing emphasis on enhancing energy efficiency and aesthetics. The Shire of Augusta Margaret River has assured local residents that the "Rec Centre Refurb" will result in a high-quality, durable, and low maintenance building with minimal financial impact on the community. The project's estimated budget stands at around $8 million, with a considerable portion dedicated to structural reconstruction work and the installation of a skillion roof spanning the entire building's length.
Upon completion, the revamped Aquatic Centre will boast refurbished change rooms, new toilets, seating spaces, and public art, culminating in a stylish and practical facility poised to serve the community for years to come. Accessibility improvements are also a priority, with the addition of new ramps and the reconstruction of existing accessible toilets.
Construction is well underway, and Byte Construct South West is dedicated to involving local service providers as much as possible throughout the project. The extensive refurbishment encompasses the removal and replacement of the roof structure, upgrading of supporting facilities, and the replacement of the pool base, topped off with the installation of a new pool liner.
With a strong commitment to quality and functionality, the team at Byte Construct South West is eager to breathe new life into the pool area, guaranteeing a contemporary and delightful aquatic experience for the Margaret River community once the renovation is complete.
